Invited Speaker

Prof. Vijay Chandru is an Adjunct Professor in Interdisciplinary Research at the Indian Institute of Science. A fellow of the Indian academies of science and engineering, he has been recognized by the University Grants Commission with the Hari Om medal for contributions to science and society.  A technology pioneer of the World Economic Forum, Professor Chandru identifies with "Historians of the Now" - a cadre that begins with a study of what is today, asking not how to avoid the perils of the past but how to maximize the advantages of the future.

Digital Heritage Science in the Cognitive Era

Abstract:

The relevance of digital technologies in the context of heritage has been recognized for over two decades now. We are at the early stages of the third epoch of digital heritage and this seemed an appropriate time to view the emergence of new dimensions to the pursuit of the science and technology of heritage from the lens of advanced cognitive capabilities of digital technologies.
